This 3-1/2-horsepower, 20-inch side-discharge gas mower is a well-made beauty. Tomato-hued and skillfully tooled, this machine was built to do the job and do it for a long time. Three settings in the mower deck allow you to adjust the wheels to different heights, though adjustments require that you remove all the wheels and reattach them in the new setting, so it's not an easy flick of a lever--you likely won't be switching settings frequently. Easier is the decision to discharge, bag, or mulch. A flip of the side flap converts the mower from mulch to side discharge, or you can hook up a bag (the 1.6-bushel grass catcher is not included). Tree guards prevent you from injuring tree trunks and shrubbery, the engine is low-emission, and the machine rolls smoothly and maneuvers well. A caveat: assembly of this mower is not for the faint of heart. A well-stocked toolbox is required; without a good supply of wrenches, your lawn will be a jungle before you get the lower handle attached to the upper handle (not to mention attaching the wheels, the blade control handle, and the brake cable).
